Not a checklist, not a race. This is a first day in Naples designed to give you the city's real shape: its ancient streets, its sea, and the views that have been stopping people in their tracks for two thousand years.
Most Naples itineraries are lists. Fourteen things in eight hours, sorted by proximity, optimised for efficiency. That's not what you'll find here. The itineraries on this page are closer to suggestions from a friend who knows the city, someone who'd rather you came back having understood one thing properly than having photographed twelve things quickly.
Itineraries tend to follow a logic: a neighbourhood, a time of day, a mood, a theme. Some are a full day; some are half a day. All of them are written with enough flexibility to slow down, take a detour, or simply sit somewhere longer than planned. Naples tends to reward exactly that.
The best thing about Naples is that it doesn't show everything at once. The more time you give it, the more it gives back. These itineraries are a starting point, a way into the city rather than a way through it. Where you go from here is up to you.
